Writes, Sings and Reads
Friday, September 17 at 9:29 p.m.
So, the first week of school is winding down and I once again find myself with a bill for several hundred dollars worth of books. This time, however, I have quite a few on my list that I’m sure I will enjoy:

The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer
Paradise Lost by Milton
Pilgrim's Progress by Bunyan
The Way of the World by Congreve
Gulliver’s Travels by Swift
Pride & Prejudice by Austen
Mill on the Floss by Eliot
To the Lighthouse by Woolf
The Waste Land by Eliot

I also picked up copies of The Mezzanine by Nicholson Baker and Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss for my personal enjoyment.

And that's all for now. I have some reading to do.

Was humming this earlier today:

This World Is Not My Home

This world is not my home,
I'm just a passing thru,
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

O Lord, You know,
I have no friend like You,
If heaven's not my home,
Then, Lord, what will I do?
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

Just up in gloryland
We'll live eternally
The saints on ev'ry hand
Are shouting victory,
Their songs of sweetest praise
Drift back from heaven's shore,
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.
