Earlier today I heard a fascinating quote on Let My People Think, the weekly radio broadcast of Ravi Zacharias. It was taken from Victor Frankl, a man considered to represent one of the three leading Viennese schools of psychotherapy, who thought the search for meaning to be what drives the individual:

I am absolutely convinced that the gas chambers of Auschwitz, Treblinka and Majdanek were ultimately prepared not in some ministry of defense in Berlin, but rather at the desks and in the lecture halls of nihilistic scientists and philosophers.
