I heard about The Polyphonic Spree a couple of years ago, but then forgot them. Their music is about the actual act of singing - the kind of singing you did in grade school. When you didn't care if you didn't sound all that great.
You have to listen to it to really appreciate it. Just imagine a choir of sorts in white robes backed by Piano, Synth, Guitar, Drums, Tambourine, and a Harp, and Flute, and French Horn, and Trumpet, and Violin, and something called a Theremin. To name just a few of the instruments they use.
It's beautiful. And they're obviously having a lot of fun.
